ABOUT
Summary
A transplant from the Midwest to Tacoma, my focus is on nurturing a network through community engagement, education, and team-building. I have a natural drive to share resources and provide creative, strategic advice for nonprofits and women and minority-owned businesses. CliftonStrengths: Command, Input, Activator, Competition, Maximizer
History
Growing up in southeast Kansas, I was active in 4-H and FFA with projects such as scrapbooking, photography, gardening, and raising and showing meat goats. As a senior in high school in 2006, I was on the FFA National Champion Agricultural Communications team, placing 5th overall as an individual and 1st in FFA’s first Web-Design practicum of the contest. The strongest relationships I made at that age were those I made while serving community and working after school at a hometown pharmacy on the town square of Fredonia, Kansas.
Vision
In college and my professional life, I have continued to grow my confidence as someone who connects people to what they need in a thoughtful and creative way. I admire people who have created paths for others to make a positive impact on the world, and believe that I am on the way to doing so myself.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Marketing Manager, the Doty Group, P.S.
September 2016 - November 2021
I joined The Doty Group as an Administrative Assistant in September 2016. Over the next year, I saw opportunities to own more marketing tasks (producing blog and e-mail content, operating and growing social media channels, coordinating with vendors, overseeing corporate charitable participation, and writing nominations for third-party awards) to the administrative tasks of processing tax returns, proofing financial statements, and building reports from our database. I became increasingly active with the Association for Accounting Marketing and carved a new place for myself as the Firm’s first full-time marketer.
Now, as Marketing Manager, I serve as an agent of change by creating transformative data-driven growth strategies that emphasize product quality, continuous improvement, consumer centricity, innovation, and flexible solutions.
Some of my most impactful initiatives have been:
Complete website re-design, including the implementation of an inbound lead generation and tracking process for potential new clients.
Implementation of an NPS client survey program that highlights individual employee excellence as well as areas of weakness. Continued management of the improved client understanding of the Firm’s deliverables.
Content strategy implementation (blog, social and print media, e-mail marketing)
PR and Brand Excellence Awareness through earned media, collateral development, employee and community engagement including nonprofit event sponsorships, promotional blog posts and nonprofit board membership mentorship.
Key Performance Indicator dashboard development through Google Analytics, Google Data Studio and other tools, ad hoc app and software consulting for design, project management, etc.
Business Development certification and leadership, establishing a sales process and creating and monitoring a pipeline that measures growth potential. Revamping the Firm’s proposal development process and format from Microsoft Word into Canva, increasing the quality of content as well as speed and development of creation.
Maximizing the integration and benefits of joining an international accounting firm alliance by coordinating information campaigns, contributing to marketing specialty meetings, and advocating for the accounting staff’s professional development potential that can be nurtured within that network.
